Monday 12 September: Sonia receives an important phone call and Denise plays matchmaker

Sonia with Bex and Sylvie in the kitchen - EastEnders

Monday doesn’t look like it’s going to be a good day for poor old Sonia.

With the ‘Sylvie situation’ still causing tension, Sonia is keen to put herself and her daughter Bex first for once. She asks Ian if Bex can have the day off, but in true Ian Beale style he turns her down – and is not exactly charming about it. Maybe he’s still smarting after the right-hook from Grant!

Sonia’s day gets more exciting as she receives a very exciting phone call, and if you’ve been keeping up with our spoilers you’ll probably be able to guess what the call is about.

Sonia also finds time to have a heart-to-heart with Jane, who confides that things are not going too well with Ian at the minute. Could this be the start of a new storyline for the Beale’s?

Denise matchmaker with Masood and Carmel - EastEnders

Elsewhere on the Square, Denise decides to distract herself from her pregnancy woes by playing matchmaker for Masood and Carmel. She sets them up with a romantic dinner for two, where Masood admits to Carmel that he’s having second thoughts about going travelling.

Naturally Carmel, who is holding out for a relationship with Masood, is delighted by this news and it’s long before the pair are kissing. Bless…

Meanwhile, Lee Carter continues to question whether he will be a good dad, and Buster is causing a bit of tension on the market.
