John Partridge has confirmed his character Christian Clarke will be making a return to Albert Square next month to mark EastEnders’ 30th anniversary.
Christian will be back to attend his sister Jane’s wedding to Ian during the ‘Live Week’ of episodes in February.
Announcing the return of Christian, John Partridge said:
“I am honoured to be returning to EastEnders at this most exciting time to celebrate 30 years of the show, and more importantly to find out who killed Lucy!”
The soap’s executive producer said:
“How could Jane get married to Ian (again) without her brother there?
Johnny Partridge and Christian Clarke are loved by the audience and his EastEnders family, and we are all thrilled to have him back for our anniversary.
And we’ll be putting Johnny’s extensive theatre experience to good use, as he is plunged into EastEnders’ live week.”
Other characters confirmed to be returning for the anniversary episodes are Barbara Windsor, reprising her role as Peggy Mitchell, and Jo Joyner coming back as Tanya Branning – although Ross Kemp has recently announced there will be no return for Grant Mitchell.
